Guys i just had the scariest thing ever happen to me...

I followed the instructions TO THE DOT.

Everything went fine, the jailbreak worked 100%.

    Restored using the custom firmware...

"Your ipod has been restored and will restart"

    iPods screen goes back.

Little popup in windows "This USB device has malfunctioned and cannot be read"

This is where my heart went... the EXACT same thing happened when i used the winpwn beta on my old 1st gen. I had to get it replaced.

iTunes wouldnt recognise it, iRecovery wouldnt recognise it.

    Fix

Luckly, i held down the 2 buttons, heard it make the "unplugged usb" sound on my computer. Waited exactly 2 seconds, Let go of the power button, and the ipod appeared in iTunes in DFU mode.

Just a little warning to everyone..

    No, it's fine.
I'm glad the Dev Team isn't providing any support for this; you people should really listen to (and actually read) the README.
If you aren't experienced, don't do it.

I followed it exactly too and I had to system restore my Vista because a BSOD kept popping up everytime I restarted my computer. And my iPod wasn't turning on either. So after the system restore I plugged it in and it worked. So I'd suggest to everyone to just WAIT for a video.

EDIT: Btw, I haven't been able to jailbreak yet.

You installed libusb incorrectly; it doesn't work with Vista.

Congratulations, you can't read a README!
