    Does your router runs windows?

This is like saying that my wii did a update so now my xbox does not work. Unless your router is your windows box, windows update will not affect your iPod touch/iPhone.

No, the latest Microsoft update messed around with the Internet, and decided not to tell anyone. Apparently both Firewalls and browsers have had problems with this update. If you do, go to

Start-Control Panel-Add or Remove Programs-Change or Remove Programs: Once there, click on "Show Updates" Then go down to the very bottom, and look for the only one installed in July. Delete it.

I also recommend to go to Control Panel-Security Center, and then change the "Automatic Update" thing to this; "Notify me, but don't automatically download or install them"

First, what does this have to do with the 2.0 update? Did MS release a patch on friday that disables ipods from working with a separate wifi router? Sarcasm over.

Your router is a separate box all together from your windows machine.

If there is a update that messes up your router's firewall, than you have bigger issues than your ipod/iphone not working.

So unless your machine is your router, ex, internet sharing and wifi adapter in your machine. Your ipod/iphone will still work. They are totally separate devices, and if they are not working, then you need to fix whatever is wonky on your router. Refer to the manufactures website for configuration instructions on your router, perhaps you need to do a firmware update, and configure the router properly, using WPA(1-2)-PSK, or whatever kind of security that you use.

If there was a change with windows update, at worst it would affect your windows box, when one is referring to a change in your firewall with a windows update, they are referring to the firewall program built into windows, not the firewall built into your wireless router. The only things that may be affected with that are the remote app that interfaces with itunes, if the windows firewall is blocking it, or maybe a appletv, with the itunes media sharing with a windows machine, and that would be a simple change in the windows firewall rules.
