correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you have to right-click the .exe file of LIBusb and then one option should be compatibility options or something like that

do you have only one user? Because if so, I think I had the same problem. Fixed by typing in Documents and Settings instead of Users

I unplug it... it's in DFU... says so in my Device Manager... but I still can't -s!

I tried to restore 2.2.1 unJB, and it can't even do that...

Oh, for the love of god, please don't tell me I've B... I already bricked my Wii today... my wife will KILL me if the iPod is too... I'm serious... she will KILL ME!!

You can't brick an iPod by doing this.
If you want to restore, just put it in DFU mode again (with the same key presses) and you should be fine.

Also, libusb has it's own test program that should show your iPod.
If it doesn't there's a problem with libusb.

crap now its saying could not load ipsw,
also if anyone else is using XP, instead of "Users" at the beginning of the first command, you need "Documents and Settings"

    Yes.
Well, technically, it'll be in recovery mode when you run -s usually, but DFU mode is fine too.
DFU mode is just required to upload files.
