I was wondering if an iPod Touch 2G could run any variation or release of Windows? Also, is this illegal or does Microsoft post old software for download like Apple does?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

First the Mac OS, now Windows. Putting a desktop OS on an ultra mobile device has got to be the most useless idea that anyone has ever thought of.

In terms of specs you could put 98, ME and XP (But without any service packs) on it. But then finding drivers and stuff would be next to impossible. So I don't think it could be done.

If someone ever ported Bochs or Dosbox then maybe.

But even Windows 95 would be unbelievably slow.

I think XP is pushing it, maybe DOS

Win98 would run, but I don't think it's a very excellent idea. It simply isn't practical.

95 requires 6mb of ram so it would be unbelievably fast...

Microsoft say it can run on 128mb of ram, but that was when it was first released and it was basic (with no firewall etc).

    think about it like this:

it would be like putting the transmission of a Lamborghini in a '95 Honda Civic.
