So do this mean I can just UPDATE my jailbroken 2.1 iPod Touch on iTunes with 2.2 firmware & then jailbreak 2.2 with QuickPwn, no restore? Or since I'm jailbroken on 2.1, will I still need to do a fresh 2.2 restore before jailbreaking?
Sorry for the noob question but I'm just trying get things clear before taking the plunge!!

Yeah, you can just press the update button and let it go through the normal update to Firmware 2.2. It'll remove your jailbreak anyways. Then, jailbreak Firmware 2.2.

Whatwould happen if the QP program just crashed half way through the process?
Could I just restore, or would I be screwed?

I heard that in order to avoid slowness it's good to have a fresh install. Currently my iPhone on 2.1 is slow when opening most apps and I'd really like to get rid of that. Is it true that doing this helps? and if so I have to do a restore to 2.2 and not an update correct?

I honestly don't know. Who would want to test that :p

You'll be getting rid of Firmware 2.1 anyways so it doesn't make a difference. You're just adding in an extra step.

Thanks for the reply, that's good to know!!!
Another question, since I will lose everything I currently have, is it necessary to unhide apps that I have in Categories & Poof??

Just one last question, what is the risk of this screwing up?

It won't. Like shown in the pictures, if you don't prepare the iPod for jailbreak correctly you'll have to keep doing it again until you get it right.
