    QuickPwn doesn't work...

I am in firmware 2.0 and downloaded correctly both qkpwn and qkpwnguide120 at OP's thread. Unzipped the both zip files to a folder.

The folder contains iPod1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore, QuickPwnGui120 and subfolder QuickPwn. (I also tried move subfolder Quickpwn's content out of the subfolder to the mail folder, the result is the same)

    I killed all apple***,itune*** files.

Quickpwngui120 runs find, clicked on run. It crashes on "loading restore.plist (1344)" each time!!!!!

I also tried it on .Net Frame 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 as well as 3 machines running xp and vista.

All the same result, dying/crashing right on "loading restore.plist (1344)"!!! I have no clue why it doesn't work for me. The other method "restore" sounds very complicated to me as I am a bit tech challenged...

    Please HELP!!!!

I just looked into the QuickPwn subfolder, it has "iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108.bundle" kind of stuff in it. Does it mean it is for 2.0.1 not for 2.0????!!!!???????? How do you get on a clear 2.0.1 after downloading the 2.0.1 firmware??? I used store function to upgrade my 1.14 to 2.0. Shall I do it again from 2.0 to 2.0.1?

    Thanks

I have been trying to jailbreak my iPod touch first gen, but Im getting some issues. Im using windows XP service pack 3 with NET 3.5 framework. My ipod is on 2.0 right now.

I have tried the top two tutorials (DFU and the non-restore method), but I get the windows popup saying "This program needs to close etc"

I am using a 2.0 restore file. Could it be the file is corrupt? I have tried it on 2 other computers and got the same thing. In the case that this is whats happening, should I upgrade my ipod to 2.2 and do it? is 2.2 the same as 2.0.2?

Thanks mate, nice tutorial by the way

for 2.0 jailbreak using windows. once it has been put in dfu mode and recognised by itunes must the screen still be black? Because mine turn on when its recognised by itunes and goes to the "connect to itunes" screen. I have tried various methods of dfu mode but it all ends like this. Is this right.

    Cheers

    Tom

This is a very helpful post, but I was not able to find the most updated instructions for use with firmware 2.2 within this post. Since it is stickied, I thought that was a little odd.

Anyway, after a lot of searching I found the link below did the trick perfectly.

BTW, My brother and I found out by accident that if you pay for one upgrade to firmware 2.x on iTunes you can update multiple iPod touch devices.

My brother bought it, I connect his ipod to my PC. Then connected mine, and it updated it to 2.2 w/o charging my account.

    http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1881

    Step One
Create a folder called Pwnage on your desktop.

Download the following files and place them in the Pwnage folder you just created:
    - QuickPwn 2.2 http://********.net/QuickPwn22.zip
    - 2.2.0 firmware file

Extract the QuickPwn22.zip file to the Pwnage folder.

I don't know if you can update the firmware from 2.0.2 to 2.2 after you jailbreak with 2.0.2, but the method above worked perfectly for me.

This is the 2.0.x jailbreak section, so it has jailbreak instruction (however outdated) for 2.0.x. 2.2 jailbreak section has your info for jailbreaking the newest firmware.
