what do so if you have a side-by-side error:

    see here: http://babyface.name/2008/02/10/app...ause-side-by-side-configuration-is-incorrect/

if you get an error saying you cannot acces your ipod in iRecovery:

    (XP)

Find your original iRecovery location, there should be something like "libUSB..."

(VISTA) FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WILL RESULT IN A FAILURE OF ALL USB DEVICES
Find your original iRecovery location, there should be something like "libUSB..."
right click the .exe, click properties
    click on the compatability tab
click "Run this program in Compatability mode for"
    click windows XP
    click ok
    intall the file
    re-run iRecovery

I wish I saw this 5 minutes ago. I'm on Vista, and none of my USB devices work.

Please tell me there is a way to fix this!

step one: hope you can fina a PS2 (the connector type, not the gaming console....) mouse/keyboard
step two: boot vista up (in SAFE MODE, in oder to get there, just shutdown you computer improperly (thats the easiest way

    ))
step three: go to programs and featues, and uninstall it as if it were a program (well it is...so...yeah...)

    done!

Or, if you have a laptop, use the built-in keyboard and mouse touch pad to go to Add or Remove Programs. xD

Any advice on the 1604 iTunes error I get when restoring from the custom firmware?

I just downloaded the 2005 package thing and tried to use iRecovery but it didn't work.
