I consider myself fairly competent with technology, I am a programmer/student and generally know what is going on. I only really use windows for the use of my iPod. I opened iTunes yesterday to find that the config has somebody deleted itself and it was like I had reinstalled it, this means it does not realize that it is not synced with my iPod and it wants to erase and sync my iPod meaning have to resync all my transfers and go through the hassle of identifying this computer as one the ones that I have authorized which is now 3/4. Is there any way around this? Or to prevent windows screwing me over in the near future?

    thanks, luke

Okay, what I would do is first deauthorize your computer and authorize again. See what happens.
