I"m getting ready to buy 2 32GB 3rd gen iTouches. I'll be running one on Win vista 64 bit OS, and the other on win 7 64 bit OS. I just want to make sure they are compatible with these OS's. In particular win 7 64b. Anyone running them with these OS's successfully?

    Thanks in advance,
    Pierre

They work just fine on my Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit computers.

As long as you're using the 64-bit version of iTunes, you're golden - most of the important work done with the connection is done by iTunes, not by the OS on the iPod.

I have Windows 7 64bit (home premium), and can confirm iTunes works perfectly. As mentioned, just be sure to grab the 64bit version.

I can also confirm Blackra1n and Redsn0w work great too.

Cool. That's exact version wife is running. So no issues at all, eh? (eh added for canadian effect). I'm assuming then that windows vista wouldn't be an issue either.

    Thanks for quick reply,
    Pierre

    Nope, no issues at all.
Vista should also be fine, just be sure to choose the correct version of iTunes for your PC (ie. 32 or 64bit).

Ive never had a problem with any version of Windows since Windows XP, 32 or 64 bit version. Everything even runs fine on the 128bit Windows Server versions, and a few linux distros that I use.

Not to beat a dead horse but you guys all seem to be talking about iTunes. No hardware issues with the iTouch themselves? No different version of them for 64 bit? Just trying to make sure before I shell out $$$$

Nah, theres no difference for 32 or 64 bit for the iPod it. The only thing you need to do is use the 64bit version of iTunes, as that is the software that interfaces with the iPods' hardware.

My wife already has itunes installed on her Win 7 64 bit machine. I was looking around to ensure she had 64 bit itunes, but can't find the info anywhere. Anyone know how I could determine?
