    The firmware update includes speed increases, so yes, I will update.

    I think I will jailbreak for my first time EVER tomorrow (even though i've had it since 9-22) then I will restore a couple days later and install 1.1.2

    I probably will for the better music quality and the few fixed bugs. As for the supposed faster speed, i am pretty certain that is just due to not having all the crap on the ipod from when its jailbroken. Probably the same speed as plain old 1.1.1 just seems faster due to all of us used to slower ipods with all our extra apps. I may be wrong though. Hopefully someone will soon come out with a solid new jailbreak for the update.

    Josef, I didn't notice the speed much until after I downgraded back to 1.1.1. Then it is obvious. 1.1.1 is a like it's running in the mud by comparison. And this is completely without the influence of any extra apps.
