I quite like my Ipod Touch, but I find it's audio quality to be lacking with my current earbuds. Now, using the same earbuds with my Creative MP3 player resulted in much better sound so I'm fairly certain they aren't complete crap. I'm hoping with the release of 3.0 Apple will include a customizable EQ, so I'm wondering if there has been any mention of this. Thanks!

Creative is a company run by people who are audiophiles, apple is not.

You might never get what you want on your ipod touch.

Really? I thought that the audio processor in the Touch was considered to be top-notch by audiophiles. And my Creative mp3 player was only like $60, so I figured I would definitely get better sound out of my iPod.

Just because the audio processor is considered top notch, doesn't always mean it's going to sound good to your ears. There are lots of different factors that go into sound quality.

i would also like to see that feauture for sure, who knows maybe we get it when final 3.0 comes out! anyways,im also kinda spoiled when it comes to audio quality but i gotta say that my 2g i combination with apples new headphones (not in ear,the ones with microphone) completely suits me. Good treble, enough of bass and no noises! be sure to have decent mp3 quality though.

The Touch has pretty crappy DACs, at least to me; but then, I usually listen to music at work through DACs costing thousands... the joys of recording studios!

I think Kate (the RiPDev ripoff) has an EQ, but who actually wants to buy a subscription???
