I have a 2g iphone, which had been activated prior to my unlocking, so I ran into a roadblock there. I eventually got it working, but since then, my iTunes restored itself and I can no longer use my iPhone with it. So, 2 questions:

    1) Can I update to 3.0, jailbreak and unlock easily, even though it was a previously activated phone?
    2) Can I make a backup and save all of my numbers, texts, ect?

    1) Yup, use redsn0w

    2) When updating, it asks if you wants to backup, and then it updates.

Damn ZombieKiller, you're all over the place. Incredibly helpful though. Will I lose all my jailbroken apps and.. less than legally downloaded apps?

You will have to download all your cydia apps again unfortunately.

You on your own with the rest of that post...
