After I sell my 8GB iPod touch, I'm planning on buying a 16GB iPhone from Best Buy or something. I will then unlock it, by an AT&T GoPhone and switch the SIM cards. I'm going to be buying minute cards as well as unlimited data transfer cards ($20 for 30 days each) for internet.

Now my big question is...will it work?? And if it will, will the internet I get from the GoPhone SIM card be the same as just using 3G on a normal AT&T plan? Thanks.

Uhhh... you can't jailbreak it either?

Edit: I could still wait to unlock it. But another question I had...do you have to get a contract right when you buy the iPhone or can you just walk out of a store with a locked phone.

Tell that to the Jailbroken iPhone 3G Users.

I think he was asking a question, hence the "?"

And I was hoping he'd tell that to the Jailbroken 3G Users.

You can use GoPhone on the 3G out of the box. Just activate it via itunes or pwnage and stick the sim in and your done.

Your going to have to cancel the contract right away too.

And the iPhone 3G can be unlocked

Um... how much would I have to pay to cancel it? And...would canceling it result in other penalties as well? Like credit history, etc...
