I have an Ipod Touch 2G that I want to mount to my motorcycle handlebars to use on a long road trip I will be going on. Will the vibration of the bike hurt it? I will use a rubber pad under the mounting clamp to help with some of the vibration. The bike is a cruiser not a crotch rocket.

You've got some guts to strap your iPod to a bike.

    I'd be too scared. :S

As for whether it will do any harm, I suppose like all things, if you're careful it will be fine.

I'll be using a mounting bracket thats made to put it on the bike, so I'm not too worried about it falling off (I will be using extra supports though!!). Unfortunately, I don't think the mount will help with the vibration.

Why don't you just buy an iPod shuffle or some other cheap mp3 player. That way if it does harm the iPod you're only out $30 instead of $200.

I want to use my bluetooth headphones so I don't have to mess with all the wires. I would put it in my pocket, but I want to be able to switch tracks and I can't do that with the bluetooth headphones.

just line the mounting bracket with rubber to reduce the vibration

If your really worried, look into mounting it with an Otterbox Defender case.

Yah one of those cases with like the rough cut edges that look like it could withstand a 100ft drop.

    That should work
