This may be a quick question, but I was just wondering.

I've got an old Technika dock, that doesnt charge my iPod Touch 2G. Obviously, because it doesnt charge, I get the Charging Is Not Supported By This Accessory message replacing my background. The fact that it doesn't charge is not a problem to me.

However, the dock still works when playing music through the iPod, and its a brilliant dock, so I'd rather not get rid of it.

Would it cause my iPod any harm if I use it for a while through the dock?

Thanks to all those that help

No, it wont damage... its just that Apple took out the firewire charging on the new iPods and most of the old docks used it.

I did know that they'd taken that out, I just wondered if it could harm it by putting it on there.

No, just because it doesnt charge doesnt mean you cant play music.

You could even get a charging adapter, but if you dont really care, just let it go.

My car dock says that all the time, but I still use it everyday for like a year now.
