    Hi!

I have a 16GB iPod touch, and I'm thinking about jailbreaking it.

I want to be sure that I can fully restore it to it's original state whenever I want to, and I also want to be sure that the future 2.0 firmware and App Store will work.

So. Does iLibertyX downgrade the bootloader? and can I fully restore my iPod to a non-jailbroken state where everything is like it's new?

    Thanks in advance / iPoduser365

Just click the jailbreak only on the ipod. You will be able to restore to full factory specs.

Yes, the downgrade bootloader is for the iphone.
Be sure to restore to 1.1.4 and setup you ipod as NEW.

    You are welcome and
This is for what it is worth:

    I have 2 ipods. One 8gb and 1 16gb

The 16gb was jailbroken with ziphone 2.6b

The 8gb was jailbroken with ilibertyX

One common thread with both ipods was immediately after the jailbreak, I did a refresh on the installer and then..... Installed the cydia packager, then the openssh from cydia. I did not nor will I install BSD subsystems as I believe that BSD is the cause of some problems with the jailbreaks.

To sum up: Both my ipods work perfectly... always have.

    Good luck with yours

Usually, after a Jailbreak, the Installer is already placed on the home screen by default and on is only able to RE-install it (as far as my knowledge goes).

The Cydia Packager would be the alternative to the Installer, right?
What would be the alternative for the BSD Subsystem? Or ist that also included in the Cydia Packager?

What would one do with the original Installer?

    thx,
    Samy

Cydia does not bother your installer. It is an alternative to the BSD Subsystem. You can and will use your current installer.
