I need to get a new dock for my iPod, my old one can't charge it. D:
But Lumile, if it says "Charging is not supported by this unit" or something like that, you probably won't be able to charge. :c
Just get this:
The Scosche passPORT Home Dock allows iPod docking stations that do not support USB charging to work with the iPhone 3G, second-generation iPod touch and fourth-generation iPod nano. Simply insert passPORT into your favorite iPod docking station to charge your iPod or iPhone.
* Snaps into most iPod docking stations that use the Apple-approved universal dock
* Accepts universal dock inserts that ship with iPod (not included)
* Trim ring ensures a snug fit with the Bose SoundDock I
* Glossy finish
If you have your PC near your dock then you can just plug the USB cable into the back and it should charge. Its what my iStation 8 lets me do anyway.
What kind of dock are you using? The apple universal dock?
Mine does, mate... And i'm also using the Altec Lansing IM600 speakers to charge the iPod as well... Please Register or Log in to view images
I still use my dock that was supplied with my Ipod 3g - back in the day when they supplied a dock and plug... Still use the plug to charge occassionally as well!
I'M SO DISAPPOINTED!! if what i am about to write is true
i bought the Apple universal dock with remote control yesterday at £28
i'm using this for my ipod touch 2G. its connected to a nice set of Acoustic Energy 2.1
but, the menu button does nothing, all i can do is change tracks, pause skip
is this true, you cant change albums?
now i dont have it connected with a dock connector, do i need something like this?
The Menu button on the remote is just for Macs, not iPods.
