    Hello, I rarely ask for help because I usually know what I am talking about but today, I need your help. Here is my story;

    'So, I started to get an unresponsive screen in November and I thought it was my jailbreak so I restored. For a while, I didn't get an unresponsive screen until just recently and I think I know the problem. Back in October, my brother dropped my iPod touch in my front yard and it had a pretty fatal land (my front yard is full of exclusive rocks that no one has in my neighborhood).'
    'When I picked it up, I noticed a small dent on it but I didn't know if it was a hole or dent. Know to think of it, I think my iPod touch screen has become unresponsive because I think the back didn't have a dent, but a hole causing dust to go through and make the internal parts dusty. Another thing that might have happened is that I have a little backlight bleed on the side going all the way down and I think dust entered through there causing it to have the same results as my first explanation.'

    My question is, will Apple replace it if it had dust damage (unresponsive screen,backlight bleed)?

    I don't think they'll replace it if there's a dent in it.

    But go ahead and try, you have nothing to lose.

    I agree with jmwerkus, but let me "English-ize" that.
    I think they won't because they consider it your fault because you dropped it.

    I forgot to say the dent is not noticeable, you have to squint to see it (well I did the first time my bro dropped it). I will check out the Apple store and see if they will replace it because it's not that far away.

    I don't know if they will or not, but here is my issue with this.
    Yes.. It "could" be because you dropped it, but it could also be because you just have a hardware failure.

    Apple "should have to" replace it if its still under warranty, but idk if they will or not.

    Well, my iPod touch is a 3G so it's still under warranty. I am just going to check out my Apple store sometime this week, I am pretty busy with the new years holiday coming up.

    If it is not noticeable, I would definitely take it to them, and see what they say. Worst thing they can do is say no.
