I have an iPod that has the headphone jack behaving weirdly, it only gives sound to both headphones if you put the headphone plug on a special angle.

The iPod in question is still under warranty, jailbroken to 3.0 firmware.

My problem is that this is a 16G 2G iPod, last time I checked, they don't make those anymore, what will Apple do?

Also, my headphones looks like crap, the cover on the earbuds fell off already, and the plug's plastic shell fell off, do you think Apple would replace that too?

    Thanks for any answers.

i went to apple yesterday because my ipod touch lock button was a little pushed in (still worked) and they gave me a NEW ipod touch 2G 16GB. it was on 2.2.1 firmware so it looks like they still have them from when they first came out.

EDIT: oh and they wont replace the headphones. they would just tell you to buy new ones.

The headphones might be your problem with the sound... not the iPod.

Try with your friends headphones or another pair.
If the problem persists, and its still under warranty, try giving Apple a call.

And relax, I'm sure theyre stacked with iPods... even though theyre discontinued im sure at least one of their wearhouses have some..
