Will Apple patch it fast enough?

This is obviously concerning the new 24kpwn LLB patch.

A couple questions: Since this exploit is "bulletproof" and can be used with future 2G firmwares, how will they patch it? Is it a hardware thing too?
What I'm saying is, why can you not block the exploit in firmware updates?

Oh, and since this was so low down and very close to the booting process of the iPod, could you have sent more code through it?

    Thanks.

they are worried apple will have time to patch it for the next iphone launching in june and hopefully being made now so they wont be able to fix the hole, the ipod touch 2G is going to be always jailbreakable tho.

They ment in relation to the new iPhone. If they havnt already started manufacturing them or already have things set up which cant be changed.

yes it can be used w/ other 2g firmwares. the boot-room is hardware that cant be change or patched (i think)

they are worried that apple will change the boot room to a even more secure one before the next iphone is released. that way they might never get a jailbreak in.

We should have 2.3 shortly, I guess we should worry about that before 3.0

Muscle was referring to the iPhone2,1. Our 24kPwn exploit is in the bootrom, so it cannot be fixed by Apple for the iPod touch 2G

They have never reflashed bootrom, ever, for any device.

We wish they would. To show us how to, if it can actually be done. That would be very useful information

But we really don't think the bootrom is flashable.

It's almost impossible for Apple to patch it fully. They would have chosen the processor by now, so unless they have gone for a different processor to the N72AP then thats the only way they could patch it by means of processor. But they can still patch it with other hardware, for instance, they could put something in the NAND flash or similar, I'm not too proficient in this area, but I'm sure Apple could find a way around it
