If i import a iPhone 3GS from the USA in a few months when im out their, and I get a O2 sim for the phone, so that I can pay the £10 a month for the 3G will it allow me to unlock and activate the iPhone? Or will I have to buy the iPhone in the UK for this as I have heard you can do this, thanks.

no in the USA they are locked to AT&T, same as over here they are locked to O2, i doubt it would work.

Ok, so after unlocking will I still be able to pay the £10 a month for the 3G...seeing as that's the main use I'd have for the thing over the iPod touch

my iphone uses a specific 02 iphone sim card apparently. and you get 12 months free web and wifi if you buy p&g, which would normally cost £120 a year

That's spesific sim card is just a 3g card ... I got my iPhone on Friday 2 weeks a go and they said I can use my old sim because it's a 3g card... And no it won't because AT&T don't have the contract with 02 and apple to make that possible. U can try to do it with a pay as u go sim and that will verify it if you can

KK so the o2 sim must be 3G enabled, its not a specific iphone sim kwl. Yellow / red / ultra snow is no problem regarding the warranty, im pretty good with fixing things hardware wise and I know someone who can fix the iphone if its software errors so yeah. kwl thanks for clearing that up
