I don't think it would. It might, but you could get cut off pretty quick?

Anything is possible. You can have virtually any phone, on any network, on any plan just as long as it's unlocked. If it's not unlocked, you can still use any phone for pre-paid. The reason for unlocks is to be able to buy phones from other sources then your actual carrier, and skipping the overly adjusted price, and contract.

If your not unlocked and using the carrier it was bought for, and there's no terms left on the contract, cancel the contract and just start going prepaid. Your carrier will help you with this, just give them a call.

yup. just when you sign up, dont mention to them that you are using an iPhone or they will make you get a plan.

Since O2 sell P&G iPhones, it is unlikely that they would make him get a plan!

With O2 P&G iirc you can pay £10 for a data bolt on which will give you your 3G access. Give them a call or go into the store and ask them - that way you will get accurate information rather than a lot of people guessing at an answer they don't really know...

No, they wont. You're allowed to use w.e phone you want. It's not up to them to decide what phone you use with w.e plan you have.
Remember, people who work at cellphone companies know the possibilities, and most likely are just like me and you, and dont care about what other people do.
