I bought an ipod touch for my daughter for xmas, because she loves playing with mine. I got a refurbished one from apple (1g, 8GB). Should I update her iPod Touch to 2.2 before i go ahead and jailbreak it? I haven't taken that leap yet myself because of the hassle involved and also because I read something about 2.2 permanently affecting the baseband. Should I just keep her at 2.1, like mine, or should I update hers before I jailbreak it and give it to her for xmas?

Baseband only affects the iPhone - and that's because changing the baseband may stop unlocking on the 3G iPhone. It's not even included with the touch FW, so upgrading to 2.2 isn't an issue. Just make sure you didn't get her a Touch 2G and you're set.
