The main screen of the app displays any nearby Wi-Fi networks in list form, along with some information about each one.

The app shows you the strength of the signal, the channel, the type of encryption the network uses and, of course, its name.

From within the settings menu, you can tweak how the app works. Namely, you can change how often WifiTrak refreshes its network list and you can also make it connect to open networks automatically or just play one of six sound effects whenever one pops up.

You can also add networks to your ‘Known’ and ‘Forget’ lists, if you find yourself walking through the same old streets, forever looking for a Wi-Fi signal. However, does WifiTrak do much beyond the built-in Wi-Fi scanner?

So the bottom line is that if you are constantly using WiFi, whether it’s for your iPhone or an iPod touch, this is an app you need to have. The fact that it’s only $0.99 is even more incentive to snatch up this app! Unfortunately, the app just recently stopped working as I was preparing to do this review. Apparently the problem is with the new 3.0 firmware though, and they have already released a patched version that is waiting to be approved by Apple. I would still recommend this program though, as the developers to a good job keeping it up to date, sometimes you just have to wait on Apple to catch up. Especially with a big update like this one was.

    Not a review.
    1. No pictures
    2. Too short

It's nearly as bad as the review you ripped off.
