Do you have to pay to get onto WiFi, or does it depend on the WiFi? I know some hotels or airports you have to pay, but like do you have to pay for Starbucks and those places?
There's a bunch of free wifi places. Some hotels/motels even have free wifi. Coffee shops, book stores, and other restaurants usually have free wifi. go to iphone.jiwire.com. It's a free Wi-Fi finder, put in your city and/or zip, country and state and it'll tell you where there is free Wi-Fi in your area.
