Is there any way to have permanent wifi access? I am totally new to the Ipod and was hoping to be able to get rid of my black berry and use the ipod but i can't get wifi access everywhere. Will this be possible in the jailbreak?

Sorry if this is a stupid question

Wifi requires an access point, if you want to get rid of your Blackberry, then get an iPhone and then you will have service all the time. PS. NO ACCESS POINT, NO WIFI.

    There isn't service everywhere.

The fact is cell phone service isn't everywhere, Edge service isn't everywhere and WiFI service isn't everywhere.

However, if you reside in a metropolitan area, it is likely you will find coverage practically everywhere.

I presently reside in a rural community that has WiFI practically everywhere that is because people around here deliberately do not put a password on their WiFI internet.

There is almost no cell phone service here.

For me, the iPod Touch 2G is the greatest. I can even use it as an internet phone.
