    Hello,

I have been a long time reader of this forum, but this is the first time, that I am required to create a thread of my own rather than observe those of others.
Now then, my problem is as follows:

I bought my ipod touch back in december. After having downgraded and jailbroken it I happily enjoyed the fruits of the communitys labour. However two weeks ago as I
came back home I noticed that the ipod touch hadn't connected to my wifi network as it had used to. Now the DAP wouldn't connect to the wifi at all. After arduous
work I got the ipod touch to recognize the network and connect to it. However now, unlike before, I would only get a signal when I was a meter (3 feet) away from
the wireless router. I also went to a place where stumbler usually discovers numerous wireless networks, however now it found none.

Note that my internet connection works perfectly

    I use the following hardware:

    Windows XP pro (SP 2)
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    1GB RAM
    Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 (Latest firmware 1.40)
I use DHCP to acquire the IP address
A cable modem for the actual internet connection

I have TRIED the following procedures:

Searching ipodtouchfans and macrumors forums and google
Reflashing the router firmware (the older 1.20 version and the current one)
Restoring the router to factory settings
Trying different encryption methods and no encryption at all
    Changing the wireless channel
    Removing the antenna
    Renewing the connection lease
Switching wifi on and off on ipod touch
Pressing "forget this network" and the trying to connect again
    Forcing the ipod to restart
Restoring the ipod touch (unjailbroken ipod couldn't connect either)

Do you have any additional advice, or is warranty repair my next stop?

    Thank you for any advice

When you have eliminated everything else, then the only possible thing left is the thing that's wrong.

Wifi on your ipod touch is borked.

Simple test - go somewhere else where there is open wifi, and see if you can connect to that. If not then swing by the nearest Apple store, and get yours repaired.

If you have a warranty, then by all means get a new Touch. You always want a new item, it's better, up to date, and scratch less, with a new box.

You can't do much about the WiFi, it happens, people complain, but hey, look how cool it was while it lasted, now get a new one.

OR you can go to apple store and talk to a Mac Genius. They fix it free right in front of you, well at least in the US they do.
