    hi there
i have a ipt3g 32gb. a couple of weeks ago i was on 4.0 jailbroken, but i got sick of the JB, and just shift+restore'd to 4.1 (and i didnt JB - i think a JB is completely useless)....
anyways, i have this ad-hoc wifi network from my laptop which is working fine, but every time the ipod gets locked and i unlock it, its not connected to wifi = updates dont download properly.
Also i do some streaming and controlling for the ipod, so reconnecting every single time is a real pain in the rear end.

I remember reading that one of 4.0 features was always-on-wifi.... personally i dont care much about the battery running out faster as i can just charge it.

is there anyway to turn it on or something without jb'ing?
also btw it doesnt reconnect automatically - i checked.

Not that I've seen, iOS 4 seems to disconnect from WiFi if you aren't using it sometimes.

The only way I know it to use the AutoLock toggle in SBSetting... but that's an (awesome) jailbreak feature.
