so i guess for some reason the guy at the computer help desk told me, my touch will not work with the college wifi. he said something like the campus wifi doesnt permit insecure devices to connect. so is there a patch or something out there (or in development) that can let me sneak around the wifi security?

did he just refuse to give you the wifi code, or is the network unprotected?

no its protected. we tried to register it with the network, but it still wouldnt work. in fact the only way i can get on the net while on campus is if i ping the web page. people who are good with networks, i suppose that means something to you...

no i dont have the network key...
but will i be able to change the address to my laptop(vaio) for instance? it is already registered with the network.
question 2: do you think this could adversley affect my ability to connect elsewhere or back to itunes?

well if you get the network key, it should work. and i'm not positive about the mac address thing. it shouldnt mess up. but im not positive. i've never changed mine.
