I could swear that in 2.0.2 the Wi-Fi continues to connect even if it's asleep and because of that I can receive push emails instantly.

But now in 2.1, I need to wake up the unit before I can receive email.

    ^likewise.

I have a very slow wifi network in the house, so watching youtube is not really that great for me. specially when i have to constantly keep my iPod awake just for it to finish loading the video.. there goes the battery.. mehh

it's part of apple's new battery "juice" preserving thingy....

they're trying to make the batteries last longer before you have to recharge...

When jailbreak comes out for 2.1 u can use Insomnia to keep wifi on.

wifi has always turned off with the screen off. thats why when you ssh you have to set the auto lock to never so it doesnt disconnect you. it is also why the application "insomnia" was created as it allows the wifi to stay on after the screen has gone off.
