Why wont someof my songs open in iTunes?

    they are in mp3 format, but they dont open up in iTunes. How doI fix this

    What do you mean. Are you sure you didn't change the extension to .mp3 from something else?

    yes, they wont even load into my library.

    Did you download them off LimeWire or such?

    Well, not legit.But my whole library is like that.

    So i dont know if thats the problem

    Unless you synced them into the ipod's library, they won't play as the iPod won't recognize them due to the anti-piracy stuff Apple set up. Use dTunes or mplayer to play them.

    I highly doubt that. If it is as the original poster says an "MP3" that is unprotected, he should still be able to play it in iTunes.

    Well damn you for being a little pirate then. Apple doesn't have to support your pirated music. If your song plays in VLC, then you might have to convert it to "MP3". Because there might be something different about the audio codecs or its Protected.

    try file>import, or control/command-O.

    Then select your files.

    Also you can try to open them in VLC Player.
