Just wondering, why did Apple go to all the trouble of developing their own processor when they could easily have used the snapdragon? Does anyone know of any differences between the two processors?

They acquired a processor company a while ago with a view to building their own state-of-the-art processors rather than relying on 3rd party hardware. I suppose there may be an economy of scale in their too - cutting out the middle man so to speak.

And anyone think this had to do with a jailbreak? Really completely new hardware could make or break this jailbreak.

snapdragon doesnt include an L2 cache and the apple does, and the apple performs 4 times faster than an intel atom n270.
