My mate's ipod touch says 7gb of storage, I've lost a fair bit of music space, does anyone know why this happens/if this has happened to you, what did you do to fix it?

I've tried with RedTool and cyw00d, both give same results, can anyone help?

    Thankyou in advance.

it will never be 8GB simply because the size decreases when the flash drive is formatted and all the firmware is on. Take my 16gb ipt2g as example. Completely empty it has 14.something gbs of space.

This is also the case with any hard drive. The manufacturers (apple, etc) take the liberty of mentioning 8gb as a round off figure but in reality it will be less that what is officially documented.

Thanks for the replies, guys, but i was referring to why it's not 7gb, and how/why i've lost x amount of megabytes

There's slight variations in every model.
    You haven't lost anything.

It could be apps, a lot of savedata that iTunes missclassifies, and all kinds of other things.
