So my sister's iMac is pretty new (Got it beginning of July) and it has Lion on it and it keeps freezing. Everything freezes except the mouse, the keyboard wouldn't even let me do command + option + escape to force quit Safari. It has done this two times both on videos while using Safari. (One was youtube and the other was like nick.com or something)

Just wondering what everyone thought was going on.

    Have you tried restarting it?

Yeah by pushing the power button in the back is the only way to fix it. I am wondering how to prevent it from happening all together because my iMac doesn't do that and we got them the same day (same computers too as far as cpu and they're both running lion)

The new iMacs with certain (1TB?) hard drives have a recall on them due to drive failures... could possibly be the source of the freezing issues.

I don't think the problem is in the hard drive. Did it have this problem before you updated it to Lion? My guess is that it's just a bug in the new OS. There is still a lot of kinks in Lion from what I hear.

It did start happening after we updated to Lion. We'll give it an update or two and see how it is.

And I'll continue to wait to upgrade lol. I don't want to hijack your thread, but are you having any other problems? My Mac is getting rather sluggish and I was hoping Lion would speed it up (even though upgrading the OS that way will prolly slow it down)

I can't have it get any slower lol. And I don't feel like doing a full blown restore lol.

No other problems. And only one of our 3 iMac's have experienced that (One is the 1TB 2010 Model, other two are 2011's 500gb) All 3 on Lion

If you were going to de a fresh restore, upgrading to Lion would be the best time to in my opinion.

Yeah I know but I don't really want to start fresh. I'm not concerned about my files, those are easy to put back on. I don't want to have to fix all my settings again. Not just settings in settings.app I mean all of my programs. Its frustrating to start fresh and see all the things that you forgot you had changed and then having to redo it all.
