I would like to know your opions on this? I have an Android phone with Verizon and i still think the Marketplace is better and Google allows almost any app into the market place with a one time fee and thats it. What I've noticed is Apple doesn't allow hardly any good apps in iTunes and they make big deals of Jailbreaking. Verizon and Motorola don't really care what you do to you're phone and they don't make a big deal about that kind of stuff. Steve Jobs was blaming other phones with that "Death Hand Grip". I also have heard that Apple has banned Google's Voice App. iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch don't have flash player and I've always wondured why. Well my Moto Droid is getting Flash Player in the Froyo Update 2.2. Also by the way not to hurt anyone's feeling by saying the iPhone has FaceTime! Who cares their was an app on the Android Market that allowed me to use my Moto Droid's camera when on 3G and yes their were a few proublems with that. You're proubley thinking is Google's Marketplace safe? Kind of to a point. Some how a developer got my phone number and offered me free weather which is a violation of one of the rules. Their are spamers on the Marketplace but that is normal.

Why does Apple ban the best apps and why do they hate jailbreaking and make a huge deal about it?

Because Android doesnt really check the apps before they enter the market, so well encrypted virus could be there, With the appstore, its very difficult to do that.

Making it hard to get stuff in the app store is a sign that apple cares about what their users have on their phone. I was watching an interview of Steve jobs last week and he said, "There are certain rules a programmer MUST have to get their app on our store." Witch if you follow the rules it wouldn't be hard to get your app on their store. 2. They care because they don't want people to illegally download apps.

Apple wants us consumers to have a very pleasant time with our device, so they won't allow any old crappy app into the App Store because it may contain malicious code. Yea, the Android Market may have an anti-virus scanner, but the App Store doesn't even need one. Apple doesn't like jailbreaking because of 1) piracy (which startrees said) and 2) the ability to install apps and tweaks that aren't authorized by Apple. These forums were made for a reason, not just for news, it's for help. Because jailbreaking does cause problems; people get SWOD, get stuck in boot loops and whatever else you can think of. And let's just say that Apple doesn't want us to go through these problems.

how will you feel, when you are just browsing through the appstore (while your mother watching), and BAM!! you find a porn app, then your mother asks you:"what THAT?" you:"i dont know, lets check it out!" so you open the app, and eventually your mother will throw your ipod from the window and you'll never see an apple product again

Well, actually, the Droid X bricks itself if you try to modify it.

But honestly, just be glad with what you have, most of them are pretty good.
