but im still shocked i plugged in and d/ld 2.0.1 (not installed yet) but anyone any idea why its free? and why itunes is still selling the 2.0 update? what happens to all the people who bought 2.0 i was pissed enough they charged for iphone apps to all the early (1.1.0 / 1.1.1) adopters and yet gave them away for free to any one purchasing a newer f/w iplop.

anyway - its been a few days and i still cant find answers on the net - enlighten me!!

You have to have 2.0 to install 2.0.1...

2.0.1 is free if you own 2.0.0. The only way to have 2.0.0 is to have bought it. (or get it the cheap way as angelsynth said)

no 2.0 for me, im on 1.1.4, plugged in and the update box came up.... i've just downloaded the ipsw file and not upgraded yet

but i understand why 2.0.1 would be free to 2.0 purchasers - me getting it on 1.1.4 this is where my confusion has come from!

It's free because you have paid for the 2.0 upgrade. There were problems with the 2.0 upgrade. So Apple created 2.0.1 to fix the 2.0 bugs that you have paid for.
