I have just noticed that as the new releases from apple to the iPhone and the iPod Touch are starting to look closer and closer to a jailbroken iphone of ipod touch.
Do you guys think that apple could be leaving jailbreaking alone so that jailbroken developers create apps and modifications, then apple just copies the ideas?

Here is a list of examples

    3.0
Spotlight = Quickgold (i think its called)
Copy and Paste = CopierciN (few of these)
3G tethering=(I remebering seeing this in jailbreaking)
    Multimedia messaging=SwirlyMMS
    Landscape Keyboard=iRealSMS
    Shake to shuffle music=PocketTouch
Voice Memo=(I know there have been a ton of these)

These are just some for this new firmware release
The biggest one would have to be Third-Party Apps

Post what you think, post more to add to the list if you want

Apple most likely saw installer/cydia, and released a full "official" version of it, the Appstore.

There not keeping jailbreaking to come up with a couple new ideas. They don't need new ideas they most likely have to many as is. jailbreaking still exists because no matter what apple does people find ways around it, its the way cracking works.

I agrre but Apple will neve rmake firmware that allows us to do all the stuff we can do with our jailbroken firmwares, unless they open up their firmwares fully, wich is highly doubtful

all of these are obvious additions people have been complaining about, apple probably already was working on these b4 they saw the cydia apps.

Your probably right on a few of these, but I know that pocket touch has been out a long time (1.1.xx firmwares)

I agree with you here (I just needed something to call this topic

You didn't think that they'd make a device with all the hardware the iPod touch/iPhone have (accelerometer and such) and not plan to release games/apps for it?

They were just biding their time for a while to reinvent it after a year.

What about for the 2G iPod touch:
    Bluetooth = loosetooth
