exactly.... people would be listening to the radio all the time and not buy as many songs.

it more of a double edged sword. they could make a good app 4 it so u could easily purchase the song via itunes store right away. people might like a song and immeadily buy it.

It's a Music player, not a radio player, and plus you gt get the little remote control thing, and listen to the radio with that!

So, there is that, but i'm not sure if it works with the touch

Apple will always leave out basic things that they think are unnecessary... Like:
    -Radio
    -MMS
    -Microphone (for iPods)
    -Streetview (for iPods)
    -COPY and PASTE!
-Listening to music with bluetooth headphones...
    -and much, much, more!

Other than a couple of missing features, the iPods / iPhones in the world are perfect!

Because terrestrial radio is dying. And Apple wants to push forward into the future. Not continue to support the past. Also, if you want to listen to your local radio station(s), just use one of the many Radio apps already available on the App Store.
