Make the app icons tighten up?

I keep trying to find a theme which just works as a background but keeps everything else the same (just want to change the black background to something with more life), but all the themes either tighten the apps together, remove the dock at the bottom, or change the application icons all together.

Anyone know if there is any theme or way in which i can ONLY change the black background, nothing else?

Well, if you are experienced with SSH or have iFile you can go the the themes directory and delete everything except for the wallpaper.

I wouldn't recommend it. It really slows down your iPhone/iPod Touch if you do not have 3GS or iPT3G.

    Install OpenSSH from Cydia/Rock
    Download WinSCP (google)
find out your ip address by going into Preferences->WiFi->tap the arrow next to the wifi connection
hit this data in your WinSCP:
    -your ip address
    -usrname: root
    -password: alpine

Your now in the file system of your iPod touch/iPhone, if you need more help, search it up on youtube or so.

    go all the way up
go into /var/stash/Themes/ and look up the theme name. go into that folder, and delete everything except the Wallpaper.png file. You could also make your own wallpaper, and then make a new folder in the Themes folder, and put the Wallpaper.png you made in there.

It should run faster if you enable wallpapers then delete all of the shadows and other crap.
