Why cant ppl use other ppls shsh files

    i was wondering what does and shsh files really consist and why people just cant use basic ones that work for all

    what is it actually for and what does it actually do cause its less than 1 mb and that means that its only fully of writing right?

    It is a signature code which is specific to your device. Imagine it yo be like your serial number.
    When you restore apple checks the serial number to see if it is eligible to use the firmware file you are trying to restore to. If it isn't, then the restore is rejected.

    As the signature is specific to your device, you cannot use anyone elses.

    I think you mean "SSH" not "SHSH".

    No. SSH is "secure shell", used for file transfer. SHSH refers to the verification signatures apple uses for 3rd gen restores.

    i think its because the ecid which is different for different ipod touches and iphones co-relate to their shsh signatures...so if i have a different ecid then it may not validate
