I have successfully Jailbroke my Ipod touch all apps except mail working great maps, stocks, notes and weather but mail is rubbish!

I want it to accept my primary email account which is Virgin Media Pop 3

I have it working no problem on my Nokia phone and my PDA but my Ipod Touch will not accept it?

Done a quick Google search and it seems the Ipod Phone and Touch only do Pop accounts!

If thats right its crap! was seriously thinking about getting an Ipod Phone but if I cannot get my main email acoount I will not be bothering.

Can anybody out there tell me where I am going wrong or have Apple dropped a real clanger!

I believe it does do pop3, IMAP, and pop.
    Not sure though...

Do you have 1.1.2 and in that case, do you have the 1.1.2 version of Mail.app?

Mail does work with pop3 (mine works perfectly).

The 1.1.1 version of mail doesn't work with 1.1.2 so that might be the problem.

Finally got mail app to work? but when I go to view emails app just crashes and goes back to main menu?

This happens no matter what email provider I use either gmail or my pop3 account?

How do I tell which version I have?

    Any ideas thanks!

Did you make sure to install the "Mail prep"?

it needs to be installed so that mail.app can work...

    install the attached file to

    /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/

are you sure you are using the mail.app from firmware 1.1.2? <--- by the way, is your iPod's firmware 1.1.2?

EDIT: you do need to extract the contents of the zip file first
