    nah i agree with ipwn. i couldn't find similar monitor for less and $950. so id like to see a computer with similar or better specs, that includes a wireless mouse and keyboard, has an excellent warranty (i've never used a company as good as apple with warranties) and includes speakers for less than $700 i think that would be a pretty hard find.

    AFAIK the Apple store restores the machines using an image every so often. (Maybe daily?) So theoretically even Internet caches shouldn't be bogging the machine down for long.

    Or they could even be using a DeepFreeze-esque solution, where all changes are lost on reobot.

    Try another machine if one seems slow. Or even, just try restarting it!

    It's sad but people like to mess them up, cosmetic wise and software wise. Don't ever base your opinion on a product of a display unit.

    OK, tell me what happens if you:

    • Constantly use a computer daily and never give it rest.
    • Constantly opening, closing, and running through random programs.
    • Constantly allowing memory leaks to open up, but never restarting the machine.
    Now, I don't know if the Apple Stores leave their machines on overnight, or put them in a sleep mode, but if they do use sleep mode, this doesn't clear any memory leaks... So you just keep the memory leaks going. So why are they slow? You tell me :p

    Uhh please show me this flee market? High res 27 inch monitors are expensive and you can't compare the price of a product to used stuff. "Mercedes are expensive! I could pick up a 1975 pinto for under $500!"

    Apples =/= oranges
