Okay so I had a jailbroken 1.1.1 ipod to uch, but i restored it to 1.1.4 un jailbroken. But for some reason, the "fake time" is still in effect! and it still says my custom text! anyone know why this is, and how to change or fix it?

I does this because it backs up your ipod settings when you restore it. Including time, custom text, ect...

Same thing happened to me. I used MIM to make my ipod say "iPhone" instead of "iPod" and I had to restore it and it stayed the same

As for how to fix it? I'd say restore it again I think.(I don't know if this will work)
That or re-jailbreak it and change it yourself.

I dont want to re jailbreak, I am just waiting for the sdk ... there must be a way to change through SSH since its still in effect... must be something to edit...

Well for your custom text you need to go into /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app
I don't know exactly what to change I would ask SkylarEC.
But I'm positive thats where you need to go for that.

Skylar would probably also know how to fix your time too.

    LOL@69

But since it was still fake when I restored, there must be a way to edit it on a non jailbroken touch... Possibly thru ssh.

    You can't SSH into a non-jailbroken touch.
