I'll come right out and say that I am sick of every other thread in this subforum being someone's "How do I begin?" thread.

If one of you wants to go through the threads already posted and write up a good "How to begin" guide, complete with links to resources, etc, then I will sticky that thread and give you a promo code for PocketTouch when it is approved by Apple.

    Thanks,
    Skylar

I was thinking about this yesterday, although not exactly what you were saying.

I was thinking of making a "Developer Resources" thread, basically listing links to sample apps, tutorials, websites that have tutorials.

I don't mean to be a stickler and off-topic, but I believe you want "Who wants to do this entire subforum a favor?"

"Developers' resources" is far too wide a scope. All developers need resources. The idea here is to create a guide explaining what people will need to get started with coding for the iPhone and how to get started coding for the iPhone. The guide should include linux, windows, and os x instructions.

I realize I'm asking a lot. That's why I threw in the promo code as well.

    Whoops, I accidently the title.

When you say a "How to begin" to you mean an actual tutorial as in Hello World or as in what the toolchain is what websites, books and so on are good to learn from?

I think he means all of that, so basically a beginner can look at it and its alot easier for them to start out.

so maybe include a sample code which explains whats iin the code, a tutorial to make an app, book/website that help and are worth buying etc etc

It's not that complicated. I'd do this myself, but I haven't the time.

Here's what you'll need to begin:
Here's how to procure what you'll need to begin:
Here's what you'll need to know:
Here's what you'll want for resources:
Here are some handy links to have:
Here are some tutorials you may want to look at:
Here's a direction you may want to go in next:

    Or, something like that.

Should this include more-updated instructions on building the toolchain?
