It's absolutely useless for iPhones. Why not use the Phone app? I really find it useless. I am talking about the app icon, not the function it brings(add contacts and view them etc.).

The contact app connects with the Phone app, removing it would be like getting rid of the contact list on any other phone. And it may be useless to you, but I know everyone else would be pissed if they did this, people like having their contacts.

I mean the Contacts icon, not the function.

Yeah, thats how it is all in everything else, without the contact app it would be impossible to add them directly on the iPhone. And all the apps that use contacts use the contacts app. Just because they don't open it doesn't mean it isn't used.

I really don't get it. You can add contacts with the Phone app, I don't need to open the contacts app to add something or call someone. I understand that you need it, but I don't find the use to open a separate app instead of going in Phone then contacts..

When you add the contact in the phone app, you are using the contact app. You don't open the contact app, but they wouldn't store the contacts as well as the api's for the app in two different places... It would be stupid to waste memory like that.

So when you look in the contacts part of the phone app you are using the contacts app.

I got that, but I don't understand why there is an app on my homescreen that does the same as Phone.. why don't they hide it, Phone is in the dock anyway..
