i got tired of being so paranoid about scratching the back of my touch, i just took the plastic piece that covered the screen when i got it and stuck it on the back. it covers everything but the sides (which will do fine until i get my invisible shield) not a scratch yet

Nope. I pre-ordered my invisible shield and got it the same day my touch arrived. It's been protected ever since.

With the invisible shields though, don't you have to buy like the package that comes with the front and the back? I just want the back, since the front isnt really scratchable.

Yeah, you can only order the front, or the full body shield (Which is front and back)

Try emailing them to see if they will sell you just the back piece.

Honestly, didnt really care, a few scratches on the back arent going to hurt anything for me. I am just going to be as careful with it as I can to make sure I dont get any huge gashes or anything. I am not worried about the front screen at all, seems durable. I may eventually get a case, but it would mainly be for transporting the ipod from place to place. For actual use, Im fine without it.

How well does the invisible shield work?

Does it help reduce smudges by your fingers? Was it relatively easy to apply?

I just used a 30 gig ipod video case and a microsuede cloth. Works great
