Ok, so I had an issue with the black screen of death and I posted on here and you guys said to update it to 3.0 and jailbreak it. I haven't jailbroken it yet but I updated it to 3.0. After the update the ipod restarted, but stayed on a white screen. I tried DFU mode restoring it to 3.0 but nothing. I tried turning it off by holding power+home for a long time and the screen turns off but as soon as I let go it comes back to the white screen. Any Ideas?

Same thing (kinda) happened to me. I was SSHing so I used the 'killall -HUP SpringBoard' command through SSH (after clicking Ctrl+T) and it rebooted and worked. If you could use SSH, you could try that I guess.

UPDATE: I'm still getting the white screen but I'm getting sound... I can hear the power up sound. No luck getting any image though.
