Ok so in an effort to protect my ipod touch from damage I bought a case that eventually was the cause of a very shallow dent on the back casing of my ipod touch. Upon picking up the ipod yesterday I had the white screen of death. Ive restored several times, tried charging for 24 hours, recovery mode. blah blah blah.. I have since taken it apart, fixed the dent and put everything back together. Its still screwed. The touch functions still work s the digitizer is fine. Now Ive narrowed it down to a damaged lcd ribbon cable/connector or I have been told that it could be the dock connector. Has anyone else run into this problem and fixed it themselves? I am a very competent repairman when it comes to these things. As long as its not the hard soldered ribbon cable connecting the two boards I can repair it.

My brother has the same problem. He dropped it on the ground and now gets a white screen that can only be temporarily fixed by pressing down on the screen.

I cant get anything from pressing anywhere, even with the backplate off and the cable being adjusted.
