Awhile back I happened to be looking at the apple gallery for iPhone 4 and noticed that the white iPhone 4 had something extra on top of the ear piece. I went onto apple chat and asked them why the iPhone had that, and they said it was just a shadow, but if you watch these videos, it is visible there too. Any ideas of what that is?

Wow, I was just looking at that, and was about to post the same question in a thread. Weird. I'm going to see if it was there from the photos from WWDC.

No, that's the sensor that turns of the screen when your ear comes close so your mouth doesn't press the "end call" button

The black iPhone 4 doesn't have it, and neither did my iPhone 2g or 3G, just saying.

Interesting, the Apple chat person told me that it was a shadow. What liars.

Don't take the Apple reps serious too many times. In my honest opinion, the jailbreak community knows more about iPhones and iPods then all the Apple reps and Genius's put together. o.0

Yep. Steve Jobs just reads what the labs give him. Example: instead of using common sense, he said, "It's just a formula problem, holding the iPhone 4 in a certain way has nothing to do with signal loss."
