I have the iPod Touch 2G... and went and looked at the iPhones...

    $149 3G 16GB
    $199 3Gs 16GB

3G can be jailborken right out of the box..
    3Gs no.....

but, for $50 more, is the 3Gs worth it because of the new features?

    Thanks!

3GS. You'll have to wait a few weeks for the JB tho.

i know this might sound stupid.. but I havent really looked into anything about it yet.. I know I just am tired of having a cell & my touch.

Apps that normally use wifi just use the 3G network correct? why does it have wifi also then? (and is the network as fast as wifi?)

3G network is used when you aren't near a Wifi hotspot you can access. It's slower then Wifi generally and you need to have a data plan from your service provider to use it. Most service providers also have a cap on how much data you can use per month without being charged extra.

It also has Wifi however when you are in range of a hotspot which is faster and doesn't have anything to do with your cell phone provider.

3GS and just stick it out for the Jailbreak.
    Really, I wouldn't even Jailbreak a 3GS. Warranty.

Go for the 3gs, if you don't you're gonna regret it.
